Did Lady Fatima al-Zahra menstruate?

Question: In some Urdu books it said that Hazrat Fatima al-Zahra (Allah be pleased with her) was free from menstruation [hayz] and lochia [nifas], is this true or not?
 
Answer:
This has come in the hadith,

ان ابتنی فاطمۃ حوراء اٰدمیۃ لمیحض ولم تطمث

“Verily, my daughter [Batul al-Zahra] is pure of menstruation and lochia in her humane characteristics like the maids of heaven [hur].”1


And Allah knows best.
