Question: How is it for women to ride on horses?

Answer:

Without legal necessity, a woman is forbidden to ride a horse because it is a male job. In the hadith, it is said that there is a curse on them. Ibn Hibban narrates in his Sahih from Abdullah b. Umar (Allah be pleased with them) in which the Prophet (peace be upon him) said,

يکون في اخر امّتي نساء يرکبن علي مرج کاشباه الرجال الحديث وفي اٰخره العنوهن فانهن ملعونات

“There will eventually be such women among my Ummah who are like men riding on animals.” al-Hadith. And at the end, it said, “Convey your curses on these women, for they are accursed.”¹

I say: the words of a known hadith were taken as if in their meaning from the same said hadith:

لعن اﷲ الفروج علی السروج

“Allah’s curse is on the private part of the women who ride mounts.”²
