Will Putting Medicine In The Eye Invalidate The Fast Or Not?

What is the verdict of the Islamic scholars and the respected jurists in the following issues:

Questioner: Muhammad Ashfaq Ahmad Nizami of Mumbai Kerala in India
Answer:
  1. Putting medicine in the eye does not break the fast, as is stated in Muhit Burhani:

If you put medicine in your eye, fasting will not be invalid in our view. [2/384]

It is stated in Bahr al-Ra’iq:

That is, in the same way, if you put milk or medicine in your eye with oil, if you find its taste or its bitterness in your throat, then the fast will not be invalidated, the same is stated in al-Zahiriyyah.

It is stated Fatawa Alamgiri:

That is, if the medicine is put in the eye, the fast will not be invalidated in our view, even if the taste is found in one’s throat.

Imam Tahtawi states:

In the same way, if you put milk or medicine in your eye with oil and find its taste or its bitterness in your throat, then the fast will not be invalidated, just as it is stated in al-Zahiriyyah.

Conclusion: The aforementioned jurisprudential statements prove that putting medicine in the eye does not invalidate the fast.
